Privacy Policy

Every compressor currently offered by FileKit · PDF, image and video · runs entirely inside your browser using the PDF, Canvas and media-encoding APIs on your own device. Your file bytes are not uploaded to FileKit servers, and we never receive a copy of the file or its contents.

If we ever add a tool that requires server-side processing, that tool will say so on its page before you start, and this policy will be updated to describe how those uploads are handled and deleted.

If you are not signed in, we store nothing about your compressions. Files stay in memory in the browser tab and disappear when you close or reload it.

If you are signed in, we save a compression record containing only measurements: file name, file type, MIME type, original size, compressed size, the settings you chose, status and timestamp. The compressed output itself is never uploaded or retained, so downloads are only available during the session in which you compressed the file.

Account data is limited to what is needed for sign-in: your email address, an optional display name and avatar URL, provided either by you or by Google when you use Google sign-in.

Compression records and profiles are isolated per account at the database level with row-level security. Every read, update and delete is scoped to the signed-in user's ID, so one account cannot list, read or delete another account's history · including by calling the API directly.

You can delete any history entry from the history page at any time; deletion is immediate and permanent. To delete your account and all associated records, contact us from the email address on the account.

We use browser storage only to keep you signed in and to hold files you have queued for compression in the current tab. There is no advertising or cross-site tracking.

If this policy changes materially · especially if a tool begins uploading files · we will update this page and note the change before the tool is available.
